Oshmo Billet Battery Tray Airhead R75 R80 R90 R100 fits on top of the transmission deleting the original air box. This a great naked bike item.

By deleting the airbox and using air filter pods, you can open up the space taken by the factory battery mount. Battery cables can now be routed directly to the starter eliminating unsightly cables running along the frame.

The battery tray is cut and finned out of 6061 aluminum billet. The hold down is also machined from billet.

Fits /5 /6 and /7 bikes with 36mm fork tubes. This is a black annodized aluminum upper (top) triple clamp machined from 6061 Aluminum Billet. This unique OshmO design has an inboard clamping feature unlike any other. The idea is to keep the clamp from protruding out the sides taking away from classic aesthetic design element of the headlight brackets (see images of this top clamp mounted on one of our R75/5 Cafe Bikes). The outer round contour follows the BMW factory headlight mounting bracket for a pleasing look while the rugged design and clamping feature makes for a super rigid steering reinforcement component. Comes with center nut. Great for BMW Cafe, Bobber, Tracker and other creative builds. Fits all 1971 – 1973 R50/5, R60/5 and R75/5 bikes. /6, /7, S and RS applications will require modifying instrument bracket if you’re retaining the stock gauges. Please note, on /5 models using the stock headlight ears you will have to trim the top of your headlight ears approx. 10mm due to the extra thickness of this clamp. . Your factory fork caps will fit in the machined pockets. ( see images) This OshmO design is manufactured in our CNC Machine shop in Southern California.

BMW Motorcycle Top Triple Clamp – Brushed Stainless

Here is a stainless steel top clamp for your 1970’s BMW R series Motorcycle. Handsomely machined from T304 Stainless Steel plate. The clamp is thicker than stock for added rigidity. The under side has a slight (1.5mm) counter bore that captures the top of the fork tubes. This design is the answer to the thin steel plate that many complain about. The stock look makes it a perfect upgrade for the rider that wants to keep the original look. No modifications are necessary to your headlight ears. In other words, you don’t have to cut them and this piece will replace your ugly stock piece. Replaces BMW part Number 31 42 1 232 511 – UPPER FORK CROSS BRACE – $80 list price new from BMW. Fits 1970-1980 BMW motorcycles The OSHMO Top Clamp is stronger, less expensive and better looking then BMW. No other modifications necessary to your bike. This part is also available in a polished finish. The Oshmo Top Center Nut is sold separately and available in polished or satin finish. See our other items for the Satin Tripple Clamp and matching Top Nut. Please specify if you would like a /5 model with just the 4 holes drilled for the handlebar mounts or a /6 and newer model with the additional small holes drilled for the instrument bracket.

SB2 BMW Cafe Racer R75/5 Toaster Tank Motorcycle

SB2 BMW Cafe racer is the ultimate in both style and technical design.

The SB2 was originally commissioned by Shane Balkowitsch. Josh Withers was challenged with the task of making a dead 1972 BMW R75/5 motorcycle match Shane’s restored Outlaw 1956 Porsche.

A complete restoration was necessary on every component of this motorcycle.

Upgrades include:

900CC Performance upgrade on a completely rebuilt R75/5 engine. New seals, all new bearings, rebuilt heads, new timing components, etc…
Upgraded front suspension
YSS rear suspension
Oshmo Lightened Flywheel
Electronic Ignition, and all new wiring
Wide Shoulder rims with stainless steel spokes for that vintage cafe look
Boxercafe bodywork
5 Speed Transmission
Stainless steel exhaust coated in Jet Hot coating
BMW mufflers from a R12 BMW
Oshmo triple tree top clamp
Custom rebuilt white face speedometer with black numerals.

This bike was designed to turn heads on the city streets and to keep up with the most modern motorcycles in the canyons. The many features of this incredible machine are found in all the details from careful and painstaking assembly, fit, finish and most important of all, the ride.

Contact us if you are interested in a model for yourself. Expense depends on the donor motorcycle and the necessary work needed to make a reliable, upgraded, stylish motorcycle. Colors and accessories are optional too!

Note:
There are various flywheels available throughout the 1970s
Early 70’s bikes come with a 93 tooth wheel and 10 mm mounting holes. 9/75 and later engines take a flywheel with 111 teeth and 11mm mounting holes. If your not sure measure the mounting holes or teeth, contact us for assistance

The design is based on a twisted spoke geometry. The inboard spoke is wider than the outboard spoke and twisted in the direction of rotation for ridged service.

The final weight is about 5.5 – 6 lbs depending on the model of flywheel.

If you have a different era flywheel you need lightened, contact us with details and we will be happy to give it a try.
